The scart lead connecting the unit to the TV may be faulty or loose on either the TV end or the units end.
These units run very hot and require good ventilation around them. If in a cabinet ensure the front door is not closed when operating.
Why can I hear a hum from my DVD or DVD recorder?
A lot of these units have an internal fan to help cool the unit and the disc can spin at speeds of up to 10000RPM.
PDC Programme Delivery Control is a system that corrects the start and end time of TV programmes in case the scheduled time changes or over runs.
Why does my PDC not always work?
On some units the clock must be set within 1 minute of the Teletext time.
PDC is reliant on the information being sent out to the video via the Teletext signal.
If you have got a poor TV signal or poor Teletext the video will be unable to pick up the PDC signal.
Why does my Video+ display the wrong date and time?
Check your unit has the correct date and time set.
Why won't my DVD play discs from other countries?
DVD discs are regionalised for the countries they were sold. If your unit is not a multi region player it will not play a disc that does not match its region.
See the region information in DVD & DVD-R
Why won't my DVD play copied discs?
Copied discs can be slightly thicker then pre-recorded disc. This lowers the reflectivity of the disc and some players will not play them due to this.
The format of the disc can also stop them from being recognised as not all players support all formats like JPG, MP3, VCD and SVCD.
1 - Some remotes are multi function, make sure if its the TV your trying to control that the remote is switched to TV mode.
